3rd Match . Our team continued it's 100% winning start to the season with a hard fought 12 - 8 victory away at Keighley yesterday. After the usual quite stressful journey there we started slowly and trailed 37 Imps to 32 Imps after the first 8 board stanza. Boards 9 - 16 saw us score 21 Imps to Keighley's 15 Imps meaning we led by just 1 IMP at the half time interval. Stanza 3 boards 17 - 24 was quite eventful seeing individual scores of 1700 and 1400 being registered - one for each team - and at the end of that Keighley shaded it by 28 Imps to 27 Imps to make the match all square at 80 all going into the final stanza. Boards 25 - 32 saw the majority of the points in the hands of East/West with virtually all the contracts being played that way and, thanks to good play by EW and great defence by NS, we won that stanza by 26 Imps to 11 Imps to run out winners by 106 to 91. Despite our 3 consecutive victories we only currently sit 3rd in division 4 as league positions are based on average points gained per game and some teams have only played 1 game so far. Our next game is on Sunday 20 November at home to Wensleydale who are currently top of the division and also unbeaten.

As the club is affiliated to the English Bridge Union (EBU) your details will be entered on the EBU database. If you do not have an EBU number, you will be allocated one. Barnsley Bridge Club (BBC) undertakes to collect and use your personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This is to allow the correct identification of players for scoring purposes. Information relating to your National Grading Scheme (NGS) grade and master point rank, together with your county of affiliation, will be generally available from the EBU website unless you have chosen for it to be private. You can do this by logging on to My EBU -> Account -> My Details at www.ebu.co.uk/members. Your data will be processed by Pianola who acts as Data Processors on BBC’s behalf. They may only use it for the specific purposes for which they act as our data processors and they are not free to pass this on to other organisations that are not connected with BBC. At BBC we operate an 'Inhouse' Handicap system whereby all club results determine a personal handicap within the Club.
All results within the Club shows the master points for the 'before handicap' situation and an 'After handicap' . We also use these for an inhouse Order of Merit. Negative handicaps are added and positive handicaps are subtracted when determining the after handicap result.
Please note: Results from other Bridge Clubs or YL competitions are &nbsp;NOT&nbsp;INCLUDED&nbsp;in these handicaps.
However, online bridge and EBU now use the NGS system and all results played at Barnsley Bridge Club are fed into this system.
